Lynwood Avenue Elementary Students Visit TFCU
January 1, 1970
Several classes of second grade students from Lynwood Avenue Elementary School in Farmingville, NY recently went on a tour of TFCU’s Farmingville Branch. The students observed the inner-workings of the credit union and met with staff where they learned about the credit union’s daily operations. They also learned about opening savings accounts, using the ATMs, and how the drive-thru lanes work.
The most exciting part of the trip came when students were given a peek inside the vault and were able to try to lift bags of coins.
Farmingville’s Branch Manager, Paul Cuddy, led the students on the tour and they were given piggy banks at the end of the tour. They were encouraged to fill them up and come back to TFCU to open their own savings account.
TFCU is dedicated to teaching children about financial literacy. TFCU provides in-class presentations as well as tours for students in grades K – 12.
