TFCU Introduces CardValet App
August 28, 2017
Teachers Federal Credit Union, one of the country’s largest credit unions, has introduced CardValet®, a mobile app that allows members to set spending limits for general use or to specify thresholds by the types of merchants, such as gas, groceries or retail stores.
Once Smartphone users download the CardValet® app from either the Apple® App Store or Google® Play Store onto their mobile device, they are given tools to manage their TFCU and other credit cards. CardValet® allows cardholders to protect their credit card through their mobile device by receiving alerts and defining when, where and how their card is used. Coming soon is CardValet® for debit cards.
“At TFCU we are committed to continually enhancing technology and mobile services for our members. We recognized that members needed a powerful and convenient way to monitor their TFCU credit card spending and for budgeting. CardValet®, a free app, is perfect for creating, monitoring and sticking to a budget. It’s flexible and easy to change or update to fit changing spending needs,” said Robert G. Allen, TFCU President and CEO.
One useful tool that the CardValet® app offers is the easy ability to “turn off” accounts. When accounts are “off,” no withdrawals or purchases will be approved. For convenience and easy access to information, the CardValet® app also shows the last 50 card-based transactions, posted within the last 30 days, and gives the cardholder their current account balance.
The CardValet® app benefits include:
• Transaction controls for dollar amount limits, merchant categories and geographic locations
• Alerts when a credit card is used, approved or exceeds the set transaction controls
• Alerts when potential fraud is attempted, declined transactions
• Access to real-time account balances
