IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TFCU ONLINE BANKING AND MEMBERS CONNECTING TO ONLINE BANKING
We have taken several steps to guarantee safety of your information through internet transactions. TFCU Online Banking uses the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) specification. SSL is a network layer TCP/IP protocol that essentially ensures Authentication, Encryption, and Data Integrity. Enabling SSL will ensure end to end encryption of member transactions (i.e. the data transmission between the client and server will be scrambled). Hence, even if the transmission is being tapped, the eavesdropper will not see any meaningful data. Also, data integrity will be maintained (i.e. the protocol will ensure that data between the member and TFCU Online Banking system is not altered during a transmission). These certificates are issued only by a Certification Authority, a trusted entity, and require proof of incorporation of any organization prior to issuance of server certificates.
VeriSign, Inc. is a Certification Authority that works with TFCU to provide server digital certificates.
Most popular web browsers, including Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Apple Safari, are capable of conducting a secure session with an SSL enabled web server at the appropriate 128-bit encryption level.* Check your browser's encryption level here.
The next line of defense is the Enhanced Security Sign On feature, which is the combination of the random Security Code, your Member Number, your Challenge Questions & Answers, your Online Banking Password, and your Security Image. This combination of many factors of authentication creates a most secure environment for conducting your financial transactions. You may also check our Security & Fraud Prevention page for more information.
